What does an edge reveal about quality?

Look at the joint

Check several components for visible gaps, chips, excess glue and sharp projections. A neat joint should be consistent across the piece.

Thickness is not the only factor

Select edge banding for the part, decor and expected use. Thickness alone does not tell you how well it is bonded or finished. Ask to see a sample.

Machining still needs inspection

Equipment carries out the processing sequence. Afterwards, the maker checks corners, the surface and the agreed decor before assembling the parts set.
